Prefetching downloads selected studies from the eRAD PACS server to the local workstation. As a result, opening a study loads the data from the local workstation rather than from across the network, greatly improving the load time.  

To enable the prefetch action:

1. Create and save a worklist filter
2. Go to Worklists/Other Lists and find the created filter
3. Select the Configure Prefetch  icon
4. Make the desired changes and select the Configure   icon

A Configure Prefetch page will appear for the selected worklist filter:  

• Enable - enables the action

• Apply to current content -  retrieves priors for all existing studies on the worklist

• leave unchecked to performs for new studies only

• Batch size -  maximum number of studies to process each cycle

• Scheduling -   performs retrieve action immediately after something matches the filter criteria, executed in 5 minute cycles, or at a specific time on the day

• Include priors - instructs server to include priors

• Thumbnails only- instructs viewer to download the study’s meta-data only
