Account-Specific Authentication Agent

When LDAP is configured on a server, user and group accounts can select a specific LDAP server the system as the authentication agent. When the system is selected, authentication is done using the account and password data stored in the PACS server. If one of the LDAP servers is selected, the account information is passed to the LDAP server and it authenticates the user.  The system’s default authentication agent is defined in the Settings/Security Settings section.

Options include:

• Built In - the system’s authentication software

• LDAP servers (optional) – configured LDAP servers

An individual group or user account’s setting will override the system default authentication agent. On the group account edit page, the field is the Group Authentication Agent field.

Group accounts can also select the following:

• System default – the system default authentication agent

On the user account edit page, the setting is the Authentication Agent field.

User accounts can select the following:

• Group default – the user’s group account authentication agent.
