eRAD
PACS Server
eRAD PACS supports TWAIN-compatible document scanners. The scanner’s drivers must be installed according to the scanner’s installation manual. Once the scanner is installed and configured, it becomes available to eRAD PACS automatically. Depending on the capabilities of the scanner, a user is able to scan single and dual sided documents, driver’s licenses, insurance cards, assorted notes and forms.
The default scanner settings are defined for each workstation.
To define these settings:
The scanner’s default settings can be set and test pages can be scanned from the Scanner page under the Preferences tab.
Scanner Settings | Description |
Set Scan Source | Select the default scanner |
Set Scanner Defaults | Activate the scanner's setup application to set scanner settings |
Scan test into JPEG with defaults | Test the scanning function using the configured settings |
Scan test into JPEG with settings page | Test the scanning function by activating the scanner’s setup application. |
Scan test into PDF with settings page | Test the scanning function by activating the scanner’s setup application. |
Fast scan test into JPG with settings page | Fast test the scanning function by activating the scanner’s setup application. |
Documents can be scanned as JPEG images or PDF files, depending on the configuration. This can be set in the user interface or by using the format-specific version of the generic Scan button.
Note: JPEG format supports a single image. PDF supports multiple pages and is recommended when scanning multi-page documents. These documents require Adobe Reader to display.
Scanned documents appear under the Attachments section and the Attachments page. The web page may need to be refreshed to see them immediately after scanning. Documents scanned by eRAD Scheduler are available in the Attachments page. Scanned documents can be available in the viewer if the report template includes them.
