MIP and MinIP Images

From a selected series, the viewer can generate a maximum intensity projection (MIP) or minimum intensity project (MinIP) image. The new, single-image series exists for the duration of the viewer session and can be displayed and manipulated like the study's original series.

To generate a MIP or MinIP image,

Insert a series into an available image frame
From the Tools menu, select Series Reconstruction and select one of the following options:
1. Create MIP image - Generate a new series containing a single MIP image based on the image in the selected image frame
2. Create MinIP image - Generate a new series containing a single MinIP image based on the image in the selected image frame
3. Create localize image - Generate a new series containing a generated localizer image based on the image in the selected image frame
The new images appear as series in the thumbnail panel

Use the Image Enhancement controls to apply alternate sharpening settings.

Note: The full series must be loaded in the viewer before the MIP or MinIP image can be generated. Creating the view before all the data is downloaded results in an empty image.
