PACS Desktop Viewer

Thumbnail Panel

In the Viewer you will see a row of thumbnails that contain the patient's name as well as the first image in the series. This is the docked thumbnail panel. It can exist across the top of monitor or along the left side.

The thumbnail panel can be undocked and float freely on any available monitor. The floating thumbnail panel has the same functionality as the docked panel. It supports a maximum of two rows. It can be pinned to the foreground. The panel position is saved between viewer sessions on a given workstation.

The thumbnail panel’s initial visible state is saved in the user’s profile file. See the thumbnail panel configuration settings for available settings.

The thumbnail panel show/hide command is available on the default View menu, Show thumbnails/toolbars, and can be assigned to a toolbar using the configuration tool.

Hiding the Thumbnail Panel

The user can dynamically show and hide the thumbnail panel, toolbars and menus. The Show/Hide Thumbnails/Toolbars command will show and hide the objects defined by the Options/Advanced settings/General settings/Show/Hide thumbnails/toolbars setting.

The visible state of the toolbars and thumbnail panel is governed by the Thumbnail panel and toolbar start state and Thumbnail panel and toolbar session start settings.

Warning

If you do not include the Show/Hide Thumbnails/Toolbars command on the context menu and then hide the toolbar, specifically the Tools menu, you will be unable to change the settings to restore the toolbars. To protect against this, a built-in keyboard shortcut, Ctrl+T, is available to apply the command.
