Feature #18445 – PACS Integrations: Changes to closing the current study when opening a new study
Some enhancements have been made to various PACS integrations with the purpose of making the interaction between RIS and PACS more efficient. Some PACS integrations, such as eRAD PACS, can close the current study and open the new study in parallel. Other PACS integrations may not support this behavior, but can sometimes handle the communication using fewer calls to the PACS.
Instead of issuing a close call and then an open call when using RIS actions such as “Sign and Continue” or “Skip and Continue” from a dictation screen, it is more efficient to issue an open call and allow the PACS to handle the method in which the current study will be closed. Some PACS integrations support bookmarking or multiple sessions and other PACS integrations only support one session at a time. They type of integration will dictate the steps RIS will take when moving between studies during the dictation process.
Originally released in 2017.6.7 as Redmine #19217.
Previously, the GE PACS IW integration passed the NCD Study ID to load images. Because this method of launching studies sometimes requires customers’ PACS vendors to support a custom trigger, it is necessary to provide an alternative option for launching studies. Therefore, eRAD RIS can now support integration via Accession number.
