Insurance Management
Summary
This enhancement to Quick Search introduces a new configuration option to prevent returning inactive carriers in Carrier Quick Search results unless a user has special permissions.
As was the case previously, a Carrier Search from Manage Policies will display only active carriers. However, the Quick Search version of the Carrier Search (in the upper-right of the main RIS screen) returns the inactive carriers also. This could be confusing for most users, but helpful for certain types of users who work closely with insurance configuration in the RIS.
With this change, a new Clinical.CarrierSearch.QuickSearchInactive RIS Access String controls who can see inactive carriers when using the Carrier Search option in the Quick Search box.
The default behavior for this new setting is to display only active carriers. Only users who are insurance experts should be given permissions to include inactive carriers in their search.
