Currently, RIS is integrated with RADAR using a custom-engineered batch-type solution. There are many limitations to this approach. The future of RIS to RADAR integration is to de-couple this style of interface and instead enable RIS to send any event to RADAR, letting RADAR process that event as appropriate in real time.
As a result, RIS now has a new interface that allows RIS messages to be broadcast to RADAR, which in turn allows RADAR to create custom workflows as needed by the customer. This consists of a new Wedge plug in (RadarEventCatcher). A new RIS Queue can be created that ties to this plug in. Then it is a simple matter of subscribing to the appropriate messages to have them sent to RADAR.
