Thick Client GUI

Summary

This enhancement to the Thick Client GUI installer adds background downloading of installer files for all RIS installations on the workstation for a quicker update experience when logging in.

Background

Previously, background downloading of installer files (build pre-staging) was limited to the instance of RIS that was actively running or if the specific instance was chosen in the login dropdown. Launching other instances of RIS meant delays while the installer files were downloaded for that version.

Feature Description

With this change, the HTTP manager has been updated to pre-stage necessary upgrade files for all systems listed in a workstation's manifest. This speeds up the RIS Thick Client upgrade process, and ensures multiple RIS instances can be run and upgrade concurrently without collisions.

Once upgrades are deployed via eSP, the staged versions for all RIS instances will be available in the C:\ProgramData\eRAD\eRAD RIS folder.

Configuration Instructions

No System Administrator actions are necessary to enable this feature.
