Password strength indicates the complexity of a password. Strong passwords are considered safer than weak ones because they consist of an unexpected sequence of characters. Users are urged to define strong passwords for their user accounts. To help define strong passwords, the system assesses them as you create them.
When creating a user password, the text field background indicates the strength of the typed string with one of the following colors:
Red – The password is weak. More characters of various types (letters, numbers, special characters, etc.) should be used.
Yellow – The password is moderate. Additional characters of various types should be used.
Green – The password is strong.
The length of the background color indicates the strength of the password within the strength category. Shorted color bars indicate weaker passwords.
