Philips SpeechMikeTM

The viewer supports the Philips SpeechMike for recording report dictations. No viewer setup is necessary. Install the SpeechMike device and driver (version 2.3.190.7 or later) according to instructions, and restart the viewer. To define the viewer's SpeechMike settings,

  1. From the Settings menu, select Customize Settings.

  2. Click the Dictation tab.

The SpeechMike Type identifies the specific type of Philips SpeechMike connected to the workstation. The options include:

None: No SpeechMike is configured

Push-button: A push-button SpeechMike is configured

4-Position switch: A 4-position toggle SpeechMike is configured

When a 4-position switch SpeechMike is configured, the Control Mode is forced to Persistent mode. When a push-button SpeechMike is configured, the Control Mode setting has the following options:

State based:  Set the state of the SpeechMike with a single button push. There is no need to hold down the Play or Record button. Press the button again to toggle the state.

Persistent: Play and Record function is active only when the user is pressing the button. To return to idle mode, release the button.

The Record Start/Stop Tick checkbox controls the audible feedback played when the user enters or exits record mode. Check the box to activate the sound. The default is disabled.
