Magic glass

Magic glass is a magnification tool used for zooming in on images. It consists of one or more floating magnifying glass windows that magnify the image behind it and can be moved around as necessary to view more details.

Activate the magic glass for the selected image frame by clicking on the Magic Glass cursor button, , from the toolbar. Magic Glass can also be selected from the view menu, or by typing Alt-M.

Move the popup window over the image to magnify a section of the image. Only image data is magnified. Double left click on the magic glass window or click the close button in the top, right corner to clear the magnifying glass.

The magic glass frame can be resized up to 20% of the size of your display resolution. To resize the magic glass:

  1. Move the mouse over the edge of the window until it changes to a bidirectional arrow.

  2. Click the left mouse button.

  3. Drag to resize the window. A large magic glass window may result in ghosting as you drag it around. Reduce the size of the magic glass window if necessary.

An enhanced magic glass allows a synchronized floating magnifying glass to be applied to linked images. To use the enhanced magic glass, follow these steps:

  1. Drag images into two separate frames.

  2. Link the two image frames. The link icon appears in the top left corner of each frame.

  3. Check the magic glass box in the link control toolbar or from the Settings/Link Properties menu.

  4. Click the magic glass tool to apply a magic glass to the linked images. Multiple magic glass windows appear and move together over the linked images.
