The workstation learns of an upgrade when the user logs onto eRAD PACS, or even in the middle of an existing user session. After a new viewer is installed on the server, a pop-up notice may appear on the screen for users with Windows administrator rights. Click OK to download the viewer and initiate the install process. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the upgrade.
Alternatively, manually upgrade the viewer by clicking the Download Viewer tab, under the Worklist tab on the browser interface. The viewer downloads and the installation procedure starts. Follow the prompts on the screen to complete the upgrade.
For users without Windows administrator rights, the upgrade procedure is performed by the viewer. After opening a study, the viewer checks for a newer version. If one exists, a popup window prompts the user to download it. Check the box labeled Upgrade eRAD PACS Viewer version N, and click OK. When you close the viewer, the upgrade procedure starts. Follow the prompts on the screen to complete the upgrade.
