The dictation is assigned to the study whose tab is selected in the full report panel. To dictate a report, select the study tab and activate the microphone. The study ID information, including patient name/ID, study date, modality, etc. displays at the top of the report window. The user should confirm the correct study has been selected.
When using a Philips SpeechMike, the buttons on the microphone can control the dictation. To configure your SpeechMike, refer to the dictation panel in the Customize Settings window.
If multiple editable studies are loaded in the viewer when you start dictating, the Viewer prompts you to select the report you want to dictate. By default, the system chooses the report corresponding to the primary study, which is the first study listed in the thumbnail panel. This is configurable using the Enable dictated study listing setting. Choose the study you want to dictate and click OK.
If you start dictating when the selected image frame is from a study other than the one you previously selected, the Viewer prompts you to confirm you are dictating into the correct report. You can disable this prompt by checking the Make selection permanent for this viewer session box. To change the target study after making this assignment, open the Settings menu and uncheck Selected Study Assigned. The next time the image frame focus changes and dictation is started, the study selection window appears.
To disable the study selection prompt, de-select Enable dictated study listing in the Customize Settings’ Settings page. When disabled, dictation applies to the primary study.
