eRAD PACS Server
The system supports multiple media export engines. This section allows administrators to choose which engine the system uses and further configuration of each engine.
Media creation mechanism used in version 7 of our PACS product line. Multiple DICOM media creation jobs can run at the same time. The default is for three simultaneous creation processes, and 10 pending file downloads, but the numbers are configurable.
A server has finite disk space and media export files require a lot of it. Permitting too many simultaneous export operations may result in other operations, such as study acquisition, to fail temporarily. Be sure your server has adequate disk space before editing these parameters.
Label | Default | Description |
Simultaneous media export processes |
3 | Number of simultaneous media creation processes. |
Undownloaded media export files |
10 |
Number of completed download files (ISO files, ZIP files, etc.) the system can accommodate. |
Media export disk space threshold (MBs) |
NA |
Maximum amount of disk space the system can allocate to media creation before it starts queuing user requests. |
Media export download timeout (hours) |
24 | Timeout period for abandoned export media downloads. |
MCS (media creation service) uses different options. The disk space used by the media files are controlled by the repository configuration. Simultaneous media processes are not limited but simultaneous execution is controlled by task resource limits. Unlike Version 7 media creator - where old media files were checked and cleaned up by a new process or visiting the GUI, MCS media creation starts a cron job to periodically check for expired media processes and remove processes older than configured intervals. See Media Session Management
Label | Default | Description |
Purge downloaded media after | 30 min |
Time interval to delete downloaded media files and all related resources. |
Purge undownloaded media after | 2 days |
Time interval to delete complete, but not yet downloaded media files and all related resources. Also applies to failed media processes. |
Media export default profile user | Self | The user profile included on the media defining viewer-specific settings. |
Coercion | Coercion rules to apply when exporting data objects |
When a Media creator device type exists at the top most server (CWL) of a dotcom (PACS server hierarchy) this option will become available. When selected, media export media jobs are managed on the remote server. See Media Creation Server and Media_Session_Management
Label | Default | Description |
Media device | Auto populated with Media creator device type if only one defined | Standalone MCS chosen to off load media creation jobs to. |
