Media Creation Server (MCS)

The Media Creation Server is a separate component dedicated to creating DICOM media. This component can run locally (see Media_Export) or on a separate server with dedicated resources (see Configuring Devices), relieving a PACS server of resource conflicts at sites with heavy DICOM media creation needs.

When a PACS server is configured to use Local media creation service, jobs are managed in the Admin/Media Export section from the same server.
Media_Session_Management

When a PACS server is configured to use Remote media creation service, jobs are managed from the remote MCS server. Management of export jobs on a remote MCS use the same user interface and function as seen in Media_Session_Management

Configuring a media creation server requires a separate eRAD PACS license and support user rights. For more information refer to the MCS Operations Manual or contact eRAD support for more information.
